GOP Congressman Votes For Satoshi as Next Speaker Of The House

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican party just had its highest profile defection today in its wild attempt at electing the next Speaker Of the House as House Majority Whip Tom Emmer cast his Speaker vote for the pseudonymous and mysterious founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

In doing so, Emmer broke with both the mainstream of the Republican Party and its extreme wing. Democratic Congressmen collectively rolled their eyes at the vote before turning to each other and asking “Who is that?” and “Is that a QAnon thing?”.

“It’s time for party loyalty to take a back seat to the needs of the nation,“ Emmer said after the vote. “Satoshi is the best candidate to address our nation’s inflation issues and the best candidate to get this next crypto bull run started.”

The 20 Republicans who are refusing to vote for Rep. Kevin McCarthy are torn about the surprise vote.

“Any vote against McCarthy is a vote for America First,” Rep. Matt Gaetz crowed. “But ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’? That’s got a bit of an…ethnic…vibe to it, right? Did Emmer just vote for a Japanese person to run the American government?”

Rep. McCarthy couldn’t be reached for comment, but his office promptly released a draft of future legislation entitled “Preventing The Next ISIS By Eliminating The Transnational Threat Of Bitcoin.”
